Bibliomania is an obsessive-compulsive disorder involving the collecting or hoarding of books to the point where social relations or health are damaged. One of several psychological disorders associated with books, bibliomania is characterized by the collecting of books which have no use to the collector nor any great intrinsic value to a genuine book collector. The purchase of multiple copies of the same book and edition and the accumulation of books beyond possible capacity of use or enjoyment are frequent symptoms of bibliomania.

#2 Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Read from: Jan. 1st - Jan. 10th 2007
MING: wow, I can't believe Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? took only about a collective 3 hours to read.
OTHER MING: well, that's what reading plays are like.
MING: how come reading Death of Salesman wasn't like that?
OTHER MING: Death of Salesman, quite simply, was not as entertaining or as funny as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
MING: good point. also, isn't it funny that this directly connects to the last book I read via its title?
OTHER MING: oooh nice job. yes, very clever indeed.
MING: yes, i thought so. now if only Players would do this for the Spring comedy. if they did, i might even be compelled to rejoin players again.
OTHER MING: but, there's always the potential that they would ruin it. humor is hard to do.
MING: oh, you're right. well, i guess i'll just be satisfied with my own reading of it.
OTHER MING: say, are you ever going to figure out what all the Latin parts mean? they seemed sort of important.
MING: yes, when i achieve my own personal goal of teaching myself Latin/taking Latin next year in college.
ok...yes, i just did a book review a la the play format in Ulysses. it's been an odd day/week/year.

#1 - A Room of One's Own
In keeping with my New Year's resolutions, I am going to be keeping track of all the books I read throught the 2007 year. Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own has the honor of being the first book.
"But she lives; for great poets do not die; they are continuing presences; they need only the opportunity to walk among us in the flesh."
Gorgeous and inspiring prose, I believe Woolf is one of the best metaphor makers in the literary world. This book makes me, as cheesy as this may sound, proud to be a woman. Someday I shall commit as a writer and write in a room of my own everyday, pushing myself to reach the elegance Woolf did.
